Lotus Laser Showcases Cutting-Edge Automated Cobot System

We recently completed a custom project for a client who wanted to increase throughput on their production lines. The client in question needed to mark stainless steel tubes, which are crucial components for their ruggedised sensor housing.

Since our client initially invested in our µMeta technology back in 2022, demand for their product has soared, and lead them to seek a solution that can boost efficiency and minimise operator involvement.

Before approaching Lotus Laser for their customised solution, each steel tube required a meticulous engraving process that took two minutes. These precious two minutes meant the operator’s time couldn’t be better spent elsewhere, hindering overall productivity of the production line.

Lotus Laser’s talented Research & Development team came up with the perfect solution: automation.

Utilising innovative Cobot technology, combined with a second µMeta and accumulator table, the entire marking process is now completely automated. The precious two minutes per part are fully optimised, and the operator can focus on higher-value tasks.

What makes this system truly remarkable is its ability to process hundreds of parts seamlessly, even operating “lights out” for ultimate efficiency. This has resulted in substantial cost savings and remarkable productivity gains that has propelled our client ahead of the competition
