Military

The military has many uses for laser engraving on equipment, firearms, vehicles and tools. mainly to ensure that various parts can be tracked. As this equipment is used in different environments and conditions, engravings and markings are therefore crucial to the identification and maintenance of important equipment.

Laser marking

Military Traceability

Military equipment tracking is incredibly important, therefore marking equipment is a task that requires high quality systems create highly detailed, and easy to read engravings. Being able to learn the origins of a piece of equipment allows the military to discover where faults in the manufacture of a piece of equipment occured assisting in avoiding catastrophe with such important equipment.

Military equipment is often used in high stakes situations, therefore keeping this equipment in top condition is necessary making the marking of this equipment essential.

What are the Benefits of Laser Marking?

Manufacturing in the military sector requires laser systems which are highly efficient and accurate to output precise markings which can withstand any conditions.

Military Materials
Military equipment comes in a range of materials which all need to be marked and engraved into perfectly. We provide a range of laser systems suitable for the different materials military equipment uses so that no matter what is being engraved it will be to the best quality possible.

Faster and durable
Compared to traditional marking methods such as CIJ printing and dot peen, laser marking is a much faster process and creates a mark that won’t wear away over time.

Easily Legible and highly detailed
Unlike dot peen marks, which can be difficult to read on some metals, laser marking produces a crisp mark that is easily legible by both human eyes and computer systems. the technology can also be used to create highly detailed logos and graphics on the equipment, these could be warning signs or instructions on how to use the equipment correctly.

Withstands Extreme Conditions
Some traditional marking methods, such as CIJ printing, may distort overtime when subjected to extreme conditions. Laser marking is resistant to extreme heat, remaining perfectly legible on any equipment no matter what they are used for.

Marking UID’s to defense standard
Marking Military equipment to defense standards ensures that government property is identifiable increasing the security of the equipment.

If the markings on military equipment are not readable it could be a catastrophic failure, making it impossible to tell where the piece of equipment has been produced. If the equipment has a fault then it would be impossible to identify where the broken part was manufactured and what other equipment could suffer from the same fault.
