We started like you

We started our business as an end user:

We’ve walked in our customers’ shoes, so we know what they need and we know how to deliver. That is just one aspect that sets us apart from the rest of the marketplace.

Today, decades after our incorporation with our design and manufacture still based in the UK, we are proud to be supplying and supporting our equipment heavily throughout Europe and on a global basis to places as far away as Tasmania.

Our company has pioneered laser cutting and laser marking technology since the 1990’s. As early adopters we saw the massive potential of lasers in virtually every industry sector, for both laser marking and laser cutting. Working firstly as laser users, then as distributors for two of the largest laser brands, we evolved to become a globally respected laser technology design and manufacturing business. Our journey is somewhat unique compared to many of our competitors and it is this evolved experience that makes us so different.

Few, if any, of the major suppliers have such a history, or can claim to have had first-hand experience as an end user. We know the pitfalls; we know the challenges, and we know how to deliver exactly what a customer wants, by not just accepting the limitations of any one machine, but striving to exceed those limitations and enhance the user experience.

We invest a very sizeable sum of our annual revenues on R&D to balance as best we can the various models that we supply, ensuring our customers buy from us machines that are perfectly balanced to the needs of their businesses in terms of Functionality, Affordability and Reliability (FAR).

We don’t just design and build laser cutting and laser marking machines; we really do know how to use them.

Our headquarters in the UK has an extensive R&D facility and houses our primary manufacturing capacity. If you’d like to come visit us and take a look then please do not hesitate to contact us

Meet the Team

Dean

Together with my late father Keith, I founded this business in 1995. Since Keith’s passing I have been the Manging Director and majority shareholder. At the beginning I was privileged to have represented two of the world’s largest, most well known companies for the supply and support of laser marking and cutting devices. However, after a few years I realised that designing and building the technology is only half the story. Actually knowing how best to use it and apply it in a way so that our customers can gain major quality, time and competitive advantages was the missing element and, in my opinion, still a problem that most suppliers have today. Therefore, in 2004 I decided to create Lotus Laser Systems with a strategy to become a truly specialist provider with unrivalled technology and applications know-how; a goal that we achieved quite a while ago. As a UK manufacturer we combine the best of British engineering and quality control by expert staff and deliver our solutions around the world, which is the Lotus difference that sets us aside from the majority of our competitors.

My core role is to maintain and evolve the core ethos of the brand and grow the technology base as well as the business into an industry leading, global solutions provider.

Joseph

My role focuses on applications processing. This involves creating desired effects across a range of materials by utilizing different laser wavelengths in different formats of machine. I work predominately with our core, flagship META range, which feature CO2, UV and MOPA Fibre laser sources in Galvo format, with technologies such as the 3-axis scan head for dynamic marking and image recognition systems. I also develop new business opportunities by testing the latest laser technologies and materials. In addition to this, I install bespoke laser systems with comprehensive training anywhere in the world.

01

Powerful software

All our laser solutions include the latest feature enriched software. The Meta range run Lotus Mark 3.0 and the latest Siemens PLC electronics, providing full 3D and 4-axis support, so you can send graphics, or setup more advanced marking jobs quickly and efficiently. Uniquely, with our Meta range, we can also provide bespoke, integrated POS solutions, or custom interfaces for retail or other such environments.

All our Blu model laser cutters come with easy to use, feature rich Lotus Cut CAD/CAM software or Lightburn dependent on requirements.

Unlike the alternative print driver type machines, using our software provides far greater compatibility with common industry artwork formats, extra functionality to alter drawings at the laser cutting machine without having to open an expensive graphics package and, best of all, powerful optimisation tools to minimise process times, reduce errors and enhance output quality.

02

Expert Installation & Training

DIY installation of a laser cutter is almost certainly a recipe for disaster in one way or another be it incorrect set-up leading to faulty operation, premature component failures or simply poor performance due to a lack of understanding of how best to use the laser cutter and its control software. The same can apply to laser marking systems, especially UV or Galvo CO2, this is why our support starts before the laser cutter is delivered as we help the owner with pre-installation advice to provide the optimal environment for the machine. We use professional delivery staff and supply expert installation, environmental certification as an where requested, and training to help the owner avoid unnecessary and sometimes costly inconveniences.

03

Industry leading after sales support

At Lotus we spend considerable time and money to factory train our staff and resellers. We have staff trained to P601 LEV accreditation where worker saftety is paramount. All Lotus Laser Systems come with unlimited remote (phone/email/Skype/etc) factory support for the lifetime of the product. Our warranties are wide in scope and we offer warranty upgrades to 5 years for all parts and labour including the laser as well as preventative on-site maintenance packages so that all Lotus Laser owners can tailor support to their individual needs and get on with using the laser cutter rather than worrying about how to fix it.

04

Low Cost Ownership

With thousands of machines in the field and with the help of our highly skilled support resources our customers report near zero failures even for machines that have been installed for decade or more, in fact the average lifespan of our systems is over 10 years and counting. We invite you to compare the weight and sturdiness of any of our laser systems to alternatives, you will appreciate that all our models are ‘built like a tank’. We design these machines to last, not only affordable to purchase, meaning that that are extremely low cost to own and maintain.
