Royal Run Medals Revolutionised by Streamlined Production with Lotus Laser Systems

Last week our Head of Applications, Joseph Carpenter, had the pleasure of visiting Denmark where he helped to streamline the production line of one of Signcom Denmark’s customers.

The customer Joseph visited used our BLU125 200W DC machine to cut over 80,000 medals for Royal Run, the annual running event held in various locations throughout Denmark.

The Power of the Blu125

The Royal Run medals are made from 100% recycled and recyclable cast acrylic sheet. Before Joseph’s arrival, the company were first cutting out the medals using the BLU125 200W DC, then using a UV laser to print the detail. Now our system is fitted with a CCD (a camera recognition system) they can first print the medals, then cut them using a registration point for location, making the process more streamlined and efficient.

Thanks to the higher power of their Lotus Laser system, the producers of the Royal Run medals are able to achieve a cleaner, smoother edge in contrast to the result they achieved using a competitor’s system.

A flying visit for Joseph who was back on UK soil within 48 hours working on some exciting upcoming projects!
