In the ten years since that first frantic order, Joely Brammer, founder and owner of Good Empire, has never opted for anything other than a Lotus Laser.

These machines might look small, but they pack a lot of power.
“We ended up getting both because we do so much events work.
We do product launches, we go in-store to add personalisation – it’s a really popular part of our business now.
The quality of the engraving is really, really impressive. When people leave with their product, they’re incredibly happy with it.”
Beyond the smaller machines doing brand activation, Good Empire boast a powerful Meta-C fiber and a Meta-D CO2.
It was the Meta-C that won them a contract with Wingback, who make high-end hip flasks, pens, and other personalised items – a contract a lot of her competitors missed out on when their engraving just didn’t quite cut it.
“They’re one of our biggest clients, and they’re very focused on quality and precision engineering.
They had samples done elsewhere and weren’t necessarily happy with them.
So, they came to me a few years ago and we spent a lot of time getting the engraving perfect. Their logos are really small, so the Meta-C is the perfect machine for getting that kind of tiny detail.”
In fact, the Meta-C’s specialised 3D scanhead means not only that it can mark across uneven contours without a rotary, but also produces a much sharper, higher-quality laser spot – and so a lot more detail in the process.
Making this many personalised products to such a high standard should be prone to tonnes of mistakes and mishaps. Luckily, the LotusMark software covers that too.
“We can set up the Meta-C so that when we change the part it automatically changes the name we’re engraving, so if you’re doing hundreds of products a week like we are, it’s an automation that saves a lot of time.”
Good Empire have secured contracts and events because they know their engraving machines will always work, will always be consistent, and will always leave their customers happy.
